Mosaic Workshop B: Mosaic Florals/leaves/White Cockatoo
*3D Mural Sandy Style!
Josephina Cockatoo Mosaic Weekend Workshop

Location: Studio OzMosaics – Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
What you’ll create:
Over two vibrant days, you’ll craft a spectacular 3D mosaic mural on a 30 x 40 cm piece of cement sheeting—pre-sealed with Hydro Ban waterproofing membrane and ready to hang with hardware and wire already installed. Please attend Workshop A, Beginner workshop before enrolling in the advanced 3D class.
Your showstopping focal point will be a graceful white cockatoo, shaped from lightweight MOSboard. Around it, you’ll design a lush mosaic garden featuring your choice of Australian wildflowers or other floral favourites—roses, daisies, hydrangeas, poppies, hibiscus, and more—crafted from crockery and mixed media.
What you'll learn:
- Building 3D flowers using crockery and mixed materials
- Shaping and detailing mosaic feathers and Sandy’s signature hand-formed, painted/special-effect mosaic leaves
- Using thinset with texture and creative flair
- Incorporating slate and mirror for dramatic highlights
- Designing expressive compositions in pique assiette and mixed media styles
