Step into a world of colour and endless creativity at OzMosaics!
.... due to popular demand!

Smalti — the traditional, lustrous glass used in mosaics — has a depth and sparkle that no other material can match. At OzMosaics Studio and The Mosaic Mall, you’ll find antique and modern smalti bricks, slabs, gold‑leaf smalti, plus everything else a mosaic maker dreams of: grout, adhesives, thinsets, sealers, mesh, slate, substrates, millefiori, vitreous tiles, tools, lightweight MOSboard and of course Italian hammers and hardies.
Set in the vibrant heart of Coorparoo, our workshops immerse you in the radiant hues of Dynasty smalti and selected Orsoni smalti — luxurious, affordable and bursting with creative possibilities. You’ll learn how smalti cuts, how it behaves, how to facet it, and how to place tesserae with intention for expressive, modern mosaic art. We explore opus, andamento, pattern flow, shaping, contouring and colour blending — all guided by Sandy’s signature teaching style. How to apply the pattern to the base? We cover it all. So much info, a value-packed mosaic workshop.
In this special one‑day workshop, you’ll craft a joyful Bluebird of Happiness on a beautifully shaped MOSboard leaf mobile (approx. 25 × 20 cm). Lightweight, sculptural and ready to hang, this leaf base gives your artwork charm and movement.
Your bird can be:
Moody blue, Sunshine yellow, Rainforest green, Full rainbow joy!
Your background can be stone, slate, tinted thinset or a simple elegant blend — clean, expressive mosaic design without bulky 3D additions.
Pattern, base, adhesive, tesserae and loaner tools are provided.
